Building a Weekly Tradition

Years ahead of opening at Waterside Place, Lakewood Ranch began incubating the farmers' market that would be a cornerstone of its early lifestyle program. It began as a mid-week evening market on the grounds of their Polo Club, then moved to their Main Street location on Sundays as it grew to 4k people per week. Now, at its permanent home at Waterside Place, The Farmers’ Market has grown from 30 to 100 vendors and brings in over 9k people to the town center every Sunday.

An un-BEET-able Awareness Campaign

When the Farmers’ Market at Lakewood Ranch was moving to a new location, we began spreading the word well in advance of the moving date. In order to catch the attention of avid shoppers and the local community, we created a series of e-blasts, social graphics, handouts, signage, print and digital ads using cheeky veggie puns. The awareness campaign led to a jump from 2,000 weekly attendees to 5,000 and an increase from 40 vendors to over 90.

As The Market continues to grow, local ads are a great way to reinforce the event as a favorite Sunday tradition to intrigue visitors and grab the attention of potential vendors. A new series of e-blasts spotlights market vendors and the events and workshops that occur during market hours.

The Market on Facebook

When The Market moved to Waterside Place, it expanded with more vendors, ready-to-eat food options, yoga, live music, and kids’ workshops. The targeted Facebook ad is eye-catching, playful and showcases everything available at a glance.
